The Ione Rotary has taken fund raising for local education seriously since they were chartered in 1986. Below; twenty year old Ethel the Wonder Cow, owned by Ione Rotarian Richard Forster, continues serving her community and more specifically assisting, Ione School students, to achieve degrees in higher education through her efforts.
Ethel has walked in every Homecoming Parade since 2000 and to date helped contribute over $100,000 toward scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
Like many of her human counterparts Ethel, a working mother of 14 calves, looks forward to the extra grain she will get on Mother’s Day.
